In case you are still wondering about the "girly" bike thing:
I am 5'10" tall, I weigh 195 lbs.
I am a US Marine, and have been in for 11 years.
I'm a tanker, and I have commanded 3 platoons (1 in combat), and 3 companies, totalling about 800 Marines and Sailors.
Now, not that I'm god's gift to manliness, here, but I've been in some pretty testosterone-heavy enviornments for the last couple years. If anyone is going to think that you're less masculine because of the bike you ride, you probably can discount their opinion on just about everything.
Or you can just hit them with your purse.... ;^)
